EDUCATION STRENGTHENING PROGRAM
Allowing underprivileged children to be left behind from efforts improving access to education will only perpetuate their cycle of poverty and the countless human rights violations they face on the streets or homes every day. Providing street children with access to education can not only provide safe spaces and security whilst they are on the streets, but also opportunities to move away from the streets and go on to lead happy and healthy adult lives.
SJSJ is implementing Education Strengthening Program with a view to facilitate underprivileged students of pre-primary, grade-1, and grade-2 classes belong to low-income households, especially children from remote areas, slum areas and street to curb dropout. Under this program hundred over Learning Centres have been established across the country to provide basic education and doorsteps tuition service to the target group. For each centre, a mentor has been assigned who offers tuition assistance to the underprivileged children through five classes in a week. A number of 200 students are deriving benefits out of this program.
