Training on Arc Welding

 

Bangladesh is the most populous country with around 160 million inhabitants. Over 50% of the population is younger than 24 years old. Different studies show that unemployment rate is 3.6% whereas underemployment rate is 36% in Bangladesh. Besides, a large number of children and adolescent work for pay, many in hazardous condition. Countries with young populations need to invest more in education, skills development & entrepreneurial education. Only option to empower this youth through providing them technical education and make them skilled and self-employed. Thus poverty can be eradicated from society. We conducted few training programmes in different upazillas of Rajshahi and trained about 100 unskilled men of 18 -35 age group in two trades.After successful completion of their training they are working to support their families and the economy as a whole.

Trade 1:Arc Welding

  • Practical welding equipment, using hand tools and power tools
  • Interpret technical drawing
  • Learn occupational safety and health
  • Weld steel plate by shielded metal Arc

Trade 2:Electrical House Wiring

Objectives:

  • Practical electrical equipment and industrial safety rules and regulation
  • Study theory and practical of house wiring
  • Develop idea and analyse drawing and blueprint of house wiring
  • Ensure the theory and practical application on all tyres of circuit and connection
  • Practice the theory and practical application all type of electrical testing
  • To develop skill workforce

No of beneficiaries: 100 (50 in each trade)

Training period: 6 months for each trade(Total 360 hrs,Theory 60 hrs and Practical 240 hrs)

We conducted this training with the help of local training institute, local government and corporate and individual donations.
